A leading real estate development platform in the region is seeking an experienced Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead the creation and management of a high-quality development pipeline.
The CDO will be responsible for ensuring that only market-sound, financially viable, and executable projects enter the investment pipeline, forming the foundation of the company’s long-term growth.
Role Overview
The Chief Development Officer will lead all development-stage activities, including land acquisition strategy, opportunity sourcing, feasibility analysis, product definition, and master planning.
This role requires a strategic and analytical leader capable of translating market intelligence into viable development concepts while maintaining strict discipline in project evaluation and investment readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the identification and sourcing of development opportunities aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Oversee site screening, due diligence, and land evaluation processes.
- Structure land acquisitions, joint ventures, or partnership arrangements.
- Translate market insights into product strategy, development phasing, and concept positioning.
- Lead and coordinate feasibility studies integrating legal, financial, technical, and commercial inputs.
- Manage master planning processes and early-stage consultant engagement.
- Prepare and present stage-gate submissions and investment papers for executive and Board approval.
- Ensure alignment between development strategy, financial performance, and market demand.
Key Decision Areas
- Authorize and oversee due diligence activities within approved budgets.
- Recommend whether development opportunities should proceed, be revised, paused, or discontinued.
- Lead concept development and ensure formal brief approval prior to design progression.
- Guide early-stage project direction, including product mix, density, and positioning.
