Job Description:
The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) will be a strategic leader responsible for overseeing and managing the compliance program within the organization, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and internal policies. This executive-level role requires an individual with profound knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks applicable to the industry, exceptional risk management skills, and the ability to develop and implement robust compliance programs. Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in compliance, legal, or risk management roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position within a highly regulated industry.
- Proven expertise in developing and implementing comprehensive compliance programs that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- In-depth understanding of local, national, and international regulations affecting the organization, including those related to financial services, data protection, and anti-corruption laws.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and lead change across all levels of the organization while ensuring alignment with compliance standards and organizational values.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to leverage quantitative data to inform compliance strategies and drive decision-making processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of presenting complex compliance issues and solutions to executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Experience in conducting compliance risk assessments and audits, and responding effectively to compliance breaches or incidents.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance management program that aligns with the organization's goals and regulatory obligations, ensuring a proactive approach to compliance.
- Provide leadership and direction to the compliance team, fostering a high-performing culture focused on integrity, ethical conduct, and continuous improvement in compliance practices.
- Collaborate with senior executives to integrate compliance across business units, ensuring that compliance considerations are embedded in strategic planning and operational initiatives.
- Monitor and assess changes in regulations and interpret their impact on the organization’s compliance obligations, making necessary adjustments to compliance policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular compliance training sessions for all staff, ensuring ongoing awareness and understanding of compliance requirements and best practices across the organization.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the compliance program, reporting regularly to the Board and senior management on compliance risks and mitigation strategies.
- Lead investigations into reported compliance violations and oversee response actions, ensuring clear communication and appropriate remediation efforts.
- Develop relationships with regulatory bodies and industry associations to ensure the organization remains informed of relevant changes in compliance landscapes.
