Position: Require a Chief Accountant
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Accounting Standards (IAS).
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all accounting records and General Ledger entries.
- Prepare audit schedules and coordinate with both internal and external auditors.
- Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and perform variance analysis to support business planning.
- Prepare management reports and financial analyses to help drive business performance and decision‑making.
- Monitor profitability, cash flow, income, and expenses across the business.
- Review bank reconciliations, financial reports, tax reports, and accounting documentation.
- Oversee payment approvals and maintain strong financial controls.
- Coordinate with banks, suppliers, customers, and regulatory authorities on financial matters.
- Support the Group CFO with banking activities and local and international investment‑related transactions.
- Lead, mentor, and provide guidance to the accounting team while promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and statutory requirements.
Requirements
- MBA in Finance, Financial Accounting Management, Commerce, or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in managing or supervising finance and accounting functions.
- Previous experience in the financial services sector or similar industries is highly preferred.
- Professional certifications such as SOCPA, CPA, ACCA, CMA, or CA will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, auditing, taxation, cash flow management, and internal controls
. - Hands‑on experience with ERP and SAP accounting systems
. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
. - Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform effectively under tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail, integrity, and a commitment to maintaining financial accuracy and confidentiality.
