Roles and responsibilities:
MEP Supervisor ensures that all MEP systems are installed correctly, maintained properly, and comply with all safety and quality standards while managing teams and resources effectively.
Supervision of MEP Installation
Ensure that the installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems is carried out according to the design and specifications.
Supervise the installation team, ensuring quality standards and safety protocols are adhered to.
Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure work is completed on schedule and within budget.
Quality Control
Monitor the work quality and performance of MEP systems.
Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and project requirements.
Identify and resolve any defects or issues in MEP installations.
Scheduling and Coordination
Develop work schedules and ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Coordinate with other departments and teams, such as structural, civil, and architectural teams, to prevent delays and conflicts between systems.
Manage the allocation of labor, materials, and resources.
Safety Management
Enforce safety guidelines and ensure workers are trained in safe working practices.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
Ensure all MEP systems meet local regulations and safety standards.
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving
Resolve any technical or operational problems related to MEP systems.
Troubleshoot issues in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and work with the engineering team to find effective solutions.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain detailed records of work progress, issues, inspections, and maintenance activities.
Prepare and submit reports to senior management, detailing the status of ongoing projects and any potential risks or delays.
Material and Equipment Management
Ensure the timely procurement and delivery of necessary materials and equipment.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure materials are properly stored and managed.
Collaboration and Communication
Act as a point of contact between project management and site workers.
Communicate effectively with other departments and stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow.
Participate in meetings with engineers and other supervisors to discuss project progress and resolve any challenges.
Commissioning and Testing
Oversee the testing and commissioning of MEP systems to ensure they are functioning correctly before handover.
Ensure that systems are thoroughly tested and meet operational requirements.
Training and Development
Provide guidance and training to junior staff and workers on MEP-related tasks.
Promote skill development within the team to ensure effective execution of tasks.
Skills required:
Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and BOQs (Bill of Quantities).
Familiarity with MEP installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance.
Understanding of local codes and standards (e.g., DEWA, ADDC, Dubai Municipality, Civil Defense).
Leadership and team management skills.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Good communication skills in English, (Arabic is a plus).
Requirements:
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
5+ years of GCC experience in MEP supervision (preferably in construction, facilities management, or real estate projects).
Below age 45.
Salary will be based on performance.
