The Opportunity

We are seeking a vigilant, professional, and proactive CCTV Operator to support the safety, security, and operational integrity of Queen Elizabeth’s School, Dubai Sports City.

The CCTV Operator will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure learning environment by monitoring surveillance systems, identifying and responding to security incidents, maintaining accurate records, and supporting emergency response procedures. Working closely with the Facilities, Security, Health & Safety, and Senior Leadership Teams, the successful candidate will ensure that all surveillance systems operate effectively while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.

The Role

Job Title: CCTV Operator

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Surveillance and Security Monitoring

  • Monitor CCTV systems continuously to ensure the safety and security of students, staff, visitors, and school property.
  • Identify, assess, and report suspicious behaviour, security breaches, safety hazards, or other incidents promptly.
  • Respond appropriately to alarms, emergency situations, and security alerts in accordance with school procedures.
  • Coordinate with security personnel, Facilities Management, and emergency services when required.
  • Conduct regular system checks to ensure CCTV equipment is fully operational and report faults for maintenance.
  • Maintain vigilance during school events, arrivals, departures, examinations, and other high-risk periods.

Incident Management and Reporting

  • Record and document all security incidents, observations, and actions accurately within the school's incident reporting systems.
  • Retrieve CCTV footage as authorised to support investigations, safeguarding concerns, disciplinary matters, insurance claims, or legal requirements.
  • Ensure all evidence is securely handled and maintained in accordance with school policies and applicable legislation.
  • Assist in investigations by providing accurate reports and relevant surveillance footage.
  • Escalate significant incidents immediately to the Operations Manager and designated senior leaders.

Systems Administration

  • Monitor the performance of CCTV equipment and report technical issues requiring repair or maintenance.
  • Liaise with approved contractors and service providers regarding maintenance and repairs of surveillance systems.
  • Ensure CCTV recording systems remain operational, secure, and compliant with retention requirements.
  • Support periodic testing of security systems, alarms, and associated monitoring equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of system maintenance, equipment faults, and service activities.

Safeguarding, Compliance and Confidentiality

  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all CCTV footage, investigations, and security information.
  • Operate CCTV systems in full compliance with UAE regulations, school policies, safeguarding procedures, and data protection requirements.
  • Ensure access to surveillance footage is strictly controlled and authorised.
  • Support safeguarding investigations where CCTV evidence is required.
  • Promote a culture of safety, vigilance, and professionalism across the school community.

Operational Support

  • Support emergency evacuation procedures and business continuity arrangements through effective monitoring of security systems.
  • Assist with access control monitoring where required.
  • Provide information and support to authorised staff during emergency situations.
  • Work collaboratively with Facilities, Operations, Health & Safety, and Security teams to continuously improve school security procedures.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties consistent with the role as directed by the Facilities Manager.

The Person

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • CCTV Operator certification or recognised security qualification preferred.
  • Valid UAE Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) CCTV Operator Licence (or eligibility to obtain one) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience operating CCTV systems within a school, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, or similar environment.
  • Experience using digital surveillance systems, access control systems, and security management software.
  • Knowledge of CCTV legislation, security procedures, and data confidentiality requirements.
  • Experience responding to emergency situations and incident reporting.
