We are currently seeking a Field Engineer – Turbo Machinery Control Systems to join our Honeywell Industrial Automation team in Doha, Qatar.
Role Objective:
The role involves installing, troubleshooting, operating, and configuring company products and systems at customer sites, as well as instructing customers in product usage.
Key Responsibilities:
Pre-commissioning activities such as system checkout, instrumentation calibration, loop checks, and communication testing.
Understanding of control valve and flow measuring device functions, with moderate understanding of sizing.
Testing and tuning machinery, including control loop tuning and troubleshooting.
Providing remote technical support, systems engineering support, and troubleshooting.
Preparing administrative tasks like expenses and reports, along with aftermarket support.
Understanding various plant processes at a basic level.
Training customers on product usage.
Collaborating cross-functionally to support the entire lifecycle of products and enhance customer experience.
Responding productively to change and performing other duties as required.
Adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognized university.
5-10 years of experience with turbo machinery control systems (compressors, turbines, expanders, generators) and process control; experience in power generation is a plus.
Basic understanding of electrical principles.
Proficiency in computers and networking; PC and PLC programming skills are advantageous.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts effectively.
Training skills are preferred.
Experience with safety systems or TUV certification is a plus.
Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
Willing and able to work offshore and complete necessary training.
