Must have everything required in Carpentry Technician

Associate’s technical degree in Civil Carpentry or similar or equivalent in years’ experience required 6 years.

Authorized Locally to work as Carpentry technician

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have 4-6 years’ direct experience in Hospitality Carpentry, civil and maintenance.
  • Must have entry-level training on BMS building automation system and know how to utilize the control program for troubleshooting.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with Palace management software and systems.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is preferred.
  • Local market experience is an asset.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Repairs of furniture and fittings as per instructions of the supervisor
  • Able to prepare furniture to an acceptable standard.
  • Operates machine tools such as saws, routers, planers, etc. Adhering strictly to the safety instructions.
  • Responds quickly to guest complaints ensuring courteous, professional service at all times.
  • To learn and carry out fire brigade duties when assigned.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the carpentry shop.
  • Responsible for care and maintenance of all tools which must be kept clean and secure at all time
  • Maintain cleanliness of all work areas.
  • To complete the personal daily job record, time book accurately and keep ready for inspection.
  • Ensures a high standard of workmanship.
  • Repairs and adjusts curtain tracks and curtain rods.
  • To cut the glass and to refit broken windowpanes.
  • To repair picture frames and glasses.
  • To repair and fix ceiling tiles and plasterer board as required.
  • To fabricate and repair the Gibson, GRC work, Aluminum or equivalent materials
  • To able install, repair of all kinds of door locks magnetic, mechanical and equivalent
  • To maintain inventory of all knobbiest, locks door hardware and hinges.
  • To maintain Palace hand and fixed tools in good working condition.
  • Is prepared to work overtime as and when required.
  • He continually works with the engineering staff to improve and maintain the highest standard of departmental operation.
  • He performs any other duty that is assigned to him.
  • Is required to use dust sheets and other protective equipment when carrying out dirty work and leave the job site clean and tidy.
  • All above responsibilities should be as per BG P&P and Departmental P&P and under guidance of Chief Engineer / DOE and asking support from others if any
  • Informs and updates the Chief Engineer / DOE on problems and unusual matters

General

  • Promptly attending the guest requests with high quality of service
  • Strictly considering the highest quality, safety, look & feel while working in guest areas
  • Ensuring prior Planning, arrangement and communication with other departments while handling all tasks
  • Ensure following up BG repair & Maintenance Policy, procedures and SOPs
  • To report on duty punctually and well groomed.
  • To always provide a courteous and professional service.
  • To maintain good working relationships with own colleagues, and all other departments.
  • To have a complete understanding of and adhere to the Palace’s policy relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
  • Maintains the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct. To always maintaina high standard of cleanliness of work areas and protection of the surrounding area when executing jobs.
  • Ensure strictly follow up, complete and update the R&M program requirement such checklists, daily routine data collection and review, logbooks, personal daily job record, time book accurately, procurement processed. with on time Correction Actions required and keep ready for inspection
  • Responsibility of Predictive maintenance planning and implementation
  • To cross trains in the fields of Painting and Polishing.
  • To response immediately to guest complaints to ensure guest satisfaction.
