Key Responsibilities:
Floral Design & Arrangement:
Design and arrange fresh flowers into bouquets, centerpieces, and other arrangements.
Create floral designs for weddings, parties, corporate events, and holidays.
Customize floral arrangements based on customer preferences, occasion, and budget.
Customer Service:
Assist customers in choosing floral arrangements or gifts.
Provide expert advice on floral selection, care, and maintenance.
Ensure customers’ specific needs and preferences are met for personal or corporate orders.
Inventory Management:
Maintain and organize flower stock, ensuring that flowers are fresh and of good quality.
Order flowers and other supplies, such as vases, ribbons, and accessories.
Monitor stock levels and handle storage to ensure flowers last longer.
Sales and Marketing:
Promote special offers, seasonal arrangements, or services to customers.
Help with retail sales, ensuring displays are attractive and well-stocked.
Take orders for delivery or pick-up, both in-person and over the phone.
Event Planning & Coordination:
Coordinate with clients for large events such as weddings, corporate events, and special functions.
Deliver flowers to event locations, ensuring everything is arranged according to the client’s specifications.
Maintenance & Cleanliness:
Ensure the florist shop or studio is clean, organized, and welcoming.
Handle basic maintenance for floral tools, vases, and other equipment.
Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience as a florist or in a customer-facing role is often preferred.
Skills: Strong design and creativity, attention to detail, and an understanding of different types of flowers and plants.
Knowledge: Basic knowledge of flower care, floral design techniques, and the ability to use various tools like floral foam, wire, and other supplies.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
Work Environment:
Florists often work in retail flower shops, flower stalls, event venues, or for specialized floral service providers. In some cases, they may be involved in home-based or freelance floral design.
Working Hours:
Hours may vary, especially around busy periods like holidays (Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Eid, etc.). Florists may be expected to work weekends and evenings, depending on the nature of the business.
Additional Skills & Traits:
Creativity, patience, and attention to detail are key traits for a florist.
Physical stamina is required, as the role involves standing, lifting, and handling flowers and equipment.
