The Camp Boss is responsible for the overall management of the labor camp, ensuring proper accommodation, welfare, discipline, safety, housekeeping, and efficient coordination of manpower and company resources. The role also includes monitoring company materials at site, maintaining records, and supporting project operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; diploma or bachelor’s degree is an advantage.
- At least 3–5 years of experience as a Camp Boss, Camp Supervisor, or similar role in construction, oil & gas, or industrial projects.
- Experience in managing large numbers of laborers and camp operations.
- Knowledge of labor camp administration, health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Experience in handling company materials, tools, and site inventory.
- Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
- Ability to work under pressure and coordinate with multiple departments.
- Valid driving license (preferred).
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the daily operations of the labor camp and ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment.
- Manage accommodation allocation, room inspections, and labor welfare.
- Maintain discipline among workers and ensure compliance with company rules and regulations.
- Coordinate transportation and attendance of workers to and from project sites.
- Monitor and control company materials, tools, equipment, and consumables at the site.
- Maintain inventory records and report shortages, damages, or losses.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, HR, procurement, and logistics departments.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and maintenance of camp facilities.
- Report maintenance issues related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and civil works.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
- Handle worker grievances and resolve day-to-day camp-related issues.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on camp occupancy, manpower, and material status.
- Conduct regular inspections of camp facilities and site storage areas.
- Safeguard company assets and prevent misuse or theft of materials and equipment.
