About the role
We are hiring for an experienced CAD draftsman — electrical to join a leading engineering advisory firm specialising in renewable energy, substations, and transmission systems. Based in Dubai or India, this role reports to the engineering/technical lead and plays a key role in delivering high-quality electrical drawings for solar PV, BESS, and power infrastructure projects.
This position requires strong expertise across LV/MV/EHV systems, excellent coordination skills, and experience working in multicultural, multi-office environments.
About the requirements
You will be responsible for:
- Preparing and managing electrical CAD drawings, including SLDs, GA layouts, cable routing, earthing systems, and substation layouts (AIS/GIS)
- Developing design drawings for solar PV plants and BESS projects, including array layouts and interconnections
- Producing transmission line drawings such as route plans, tower schedules, profiles, and crossing details
- Drafting layouts for substations covering switchgear, transformers, protection panels, and control buildings
- Coordinating with engineering teams, project managers, and clients across regions to incorporate changes and ensure timely delivery
- Maintaining drawing registers, revision control, and compliance with international standards (IEC, IEEE, and regional codes)
About you
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, drafting, or a related field with 10+ years of CAD drafting experience in the power sector
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, with experience in substations (AIS/GIS), transmission systems, and renewable energy projects (solar PV/BESS)
- Excellent English communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-country team environment
