Hypermarket Buyer

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Hypermarket Buyer to manage purchasing activities, supplier relationships, product assortment, and inventory for our retail operations. The ideal candidate should have strong negotiation skills, excellent market knowledge, and the ability to maximize sales while maintaining healthy profit margins.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and purchase products from approved suppliers at competitive prices.
- Negotiate purchase prices, rebates, promotional support, and supplier agreements.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment.
- Control overstock, shortages, expiry, and damaged inventory.
- Analyze sales reports and inventory performance to improve product movement.
- Coordinate with suppliers regarding promotions, credit notes, and marketing support.
- Ensure accurate product pricing and barcode information.
- Prepare purchase orders and follow up on deliveries.
- Monitor profit margins and recommend pricing strategies.
- Work closely with store operations, warehouse, and finance departments.
- Identify new products and market trends to increase sales.
- Maintain proper purchasing records and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of buying experience in a supermarket or hypermarket.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of retail purchasing, inventory management, and merchandising.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/Retail Management Systems(Genesys/Gravity)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- UAE retail or hypermarket experience.
- Knowledge of FMCG, Fresh Food, Frozen Food, Grocery, and Non-Food categories.
- Valid UAE driving license is an advantage.
