Job Purpose:
To conduct high quality economic and business research that is relevant to Dubai Chambers members with the view of supporting Dubai Chamber to create a favorable business environment, support business intelligent initiatives and policy development, and promote Dubai as a global business hub.
Key Accountabilities:
Responsibilities
- Support the design of research frameworks, surveys, and analytical models.
- Conduct economic, sectoral, and market research using quantitative and qualitative methods
- Analyze trade, investment, and business data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support strategic planning and policy
- Translate complex economic findings into clear, business-friendly insights and present it to senior management and stakeholders. Contribute to forecasting, scenario analysis, and economic outlook studies.
Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of departmental systems, policies, processes and practices considering ‘international leading practices’ to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
- Provide critical input to support the development of Department’s systems, policies, processes, and procedures to meet business requirements.
- Ensure team members comply with all Department’s policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Information Security
- Adherence to the information security policies/processes/program and for reporting any security breaches or incidents to the direct management.
Quality, Health, Security, Safety and Environment
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across the Department to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high-quality services.
Reporting
- Prepare reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet the departmental requirements, policies and standards.
Others
- Other relevant tasks of the job purpose when, and if required
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business studies, International Trade, Finance and/or related fields.
Minimum Experience and Skills
- Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in economic research, business analysis, or consulting.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Chamber’s services.
- Strong understanding of macroeconomic and business indicators.
- Experience working with large datasets and statistical tools.
- Previous experience of managing research projects.
- Familiarity with trade, investment, or sector analysis is an advantage.
- High command of English (Reading, Spoken, and Written) Arabic is preferable and or an advantage.
Technical skills
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Experience with Power BI, R, STATA or similar analytical software
- Strong research and report-writing skills
- Knowledge of statistical and econometric methods is a plus
