Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager – Air Freight

Develop business development strategies aligned with overall business goals, financial targets, and company policies.

Create business development plans and budgets, including account management and regional account plans.

Monitor revenue, profit, expenses, and oversee market and customer growth and retention.

Plan and implement new business initiatives to maximize DHL’s exposure among targeted prospects.

Lead sales efforts to establish relationships with potential clients.

Conduct market and feasibility studies to assess potential opportunities.

Identify new business opportunities through research and marketing initiatives.

Engage with government authorities and relevant parties for business development.

Acquire profitable relationships with key customers.

Generate leads, conduct pre-proposal visits, and assist in proposal development.

Negotiate contracts to secure new clients and support negotiations in complex sales.

Communicate sales insights and feedback with peers.

Stay informed on industry trends and adapt business development plans accordingly.

Enhance existing business development methods and resolve unstructured problems.

Persuade skeptical external parties and facilitate decision-making processes.

Supervise and motivate the sales team, assign tasks, review outputs, and support performance management.

Recruit, develop, and coach team members.

Candidate Profile

We need candidates with experience in New Business Development, Account Management, Sales, Cross-Selling, Negotiation, CRM, Marketing, Stakeholder Management, and related skills. A Bachelor’s Degree and over 6 years of experience are required.
