BUSINESS CONTINUITY MANAGEMENT EXPERT
Develop and own the enterprise-wide business continuity management program, including tools and instructional guides for both businesses and IT.
Develop disaster recovery plans for multi-location facilities with critical assets such as data centers.
Develop contingency plans to address organizational emergencies.
Orchestrate testing of disaster recovery strategies and plans.
Analyze impacts on and risks to essential business functions or information systems to determine acceptable recovery time objectives and resource requirements.
Assess risks to business operations and develop mitigation controls and plans.
Create budgets for business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives.
Develop training materials related to business continuity and disaster recovery for stakeholders.
Monitor organizational compliance with relevant regulations.
Design or implement products and services that mitigate risks or facilitate the use of technology-based tools and methods.
Create scenarios to re-establish operations following various types of disruptions.
Develop and implement crisis management and communication plans.
Contribute to establishing and maintaining program processes that ensure the IT program remains current, industry-compliant, and aligned with standards and regulatory requirements.
Lead processes supporting business continuity governance within the enterprise operational risk framework.
Provide guidance to ensure business continuity processes are aligned with the enterprise program and quality standards.
Ensure integration of information from external regulators and auditors.
Participate as an independent professional in initiatives supporting risk management objectives.
Coordinate with external organizations and stay updated on industry best practices and trends.
Identify potential business interruptions, develop safeguards, and implement recovery procedures.
Provide documentation and training on contingency planning concepts and procedures.
Safeguard data processing operations by identifying vulnerabilities and single points of failure.
Develop safeguards and recovery plans for remote business operations.
Assist in developing and updating business continuity plans, providing regular status updates to the steering committee.
Assess implications of technological or organizational changes on business continuity and revise plans accordingly.
Coordinate routine updates to business continuity documentation.
Ensure personnel with responsibilities are adequately trained.
Perform other duties as needed to support organizational needs.
Experience/
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree plus ongoing education in the field.
15+ years of experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, testing, and crisis management.
Ability to analyze and interpret compliance-related information.
Proven experience in business continuity and disaster recovery roles.
Strong understanding of standards like ISO, NIST, etc.
Mandatory certifications such as ISO 22301, CBCI, CBCP, etc.
Preferably experience in the healthcare sector.
