Core Banking Transformation – Retail Banking SME
Job Type: Full-time / Contract
Location Preference: Qatar
Reports To: Business Workstream Project Manager / Program Director
Job Purpose
The Retail Banking SME will act as the critical bridge between business stakeholders, technical program teams, and vendors participating in the T24/Temenos core banking transformation. The role will cover retail banking products and processes, including accounts, deposits, financing, and payments.
Key Responsibilities Requirements Management
- Conduct workshops with business users to elicit and document requirements.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications for vendors.
- Prepare BRDs and review vendor-prepared FSDs.
- Facilitate business reviews and obtain sign-offs from impacted functions.
- Ensure requirements remain within approved program scope.
- Perform gap analysis between out-of-the-box Temenos Transact functionality and business requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for vendor queries and clarifications.
- Document future-state (“To-Be”) retail banking processes.
- Align business operations with the new Temenos module architecture.
- Define system validation, business, and accounting rules.
Data Migration
- Map legacy data to the new Temenos modules.
- Define data cleansing and validation rules.
- Coordinate data cleansing activities with bank departments.
- Reconcile migrated balances and ensure financial accuracy.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Support preparation and review of test cases and scenarios.
- Coordinate UAT and day-in-the-life testing with business users.
- Participate in defect triage and defend approved business requirements.
- Support resolution/workaround discussions where vendor fixes may impact go-live.
Change Management & Training
- Assess impacts of system changes on branch and back-office operations.
- Develop user manuals, FAQs, and SOPs.
- Review and validate training materials.
- Participate in Train-the-Trainer sessions.
Required Experience
- 7–10+ years of experience in large-scale Temenos core banking transformation/modernization programs.
- Proven experience as a client-facing Business Analyst / SME.
- 7–10+ years of Middle East banking experience in Retail Islamic Banking.
- Strong expertise across accounts, deposits, financing, and payments.
- Temenos Islamic AA & Payment Hub experience: minimum 5 years.
