Overview

Brownfield Planning and Control Engineer Jobs in Abu Dhabi at LUCKY FABRICATORS STEEL CONSTRUCTION FZE LLC

We are seeking an experienced Brownfield Planning and Control Engineer to support planning, scheduling, and cost control activities on brownfield projects — modifications, revamps, tie-ins, and upgrades executed within live/operating oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial facilities. The role requires close coordination with operations, HSE, and engineering teams due to the added complexity of working within an active plant environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for brownfield modification/revamp works using Primavera P6
  • Integrate planning with plant shutdown/turnaround schedules and operational constraints
  • Monitor progress against baseline, track critical path, and highlight schedule risks related to tie-ins, permits, and plant access windows
  • Coordinate closely with operations and HSE teams to align work windows with live-plant safety and isolation requirements
  • Prepare progress reports, S-curves, and KPI dashboards for management and client review
  • Support cost control activities — budget tracking, forecasting, variance analysis, and change management
  • Conduct what-if scenario planning for shutdown/tie-in sequencing and contingency planning
  • Track and report on Permit to Work (PTW) and Management of Change (MOC) related schedule impacts
  • Support preparation of look-ahead schedules and resource-loaded plans for site execution teams
  • Assist with delay analysis and documentation for claims related to brownfield-specific constraints (access restrictions, isolations, etc.)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or related discipline)
  • 5–10 years of experience in planning/project controls, with specific brownfield/revamp project experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial plants
  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6; working knowledge of cost control tools/ERP systems
  • Solid understanding of shutdown/turnaround planning and live-plant work constraints
  • Familiarity with PTW, MOC, and isolation/lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) processes as they affect scheduling
  • Advanced MS Excel skills for reporting and cost tracking

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with both planning and cost control (integrated project controls background)
  • PMP, CCP, or PSP certification
  • Prior experience with EPC/EPCM contractors or asset owner/operators in the Gulf region
  • Familiarity with risk-based scheduling and Monte Carlo simulation tools
