Job Summary:
The Body Shop Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising all body shop operations. The role ensures that vehicle repairs are completed efficiently, safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards while maximizing customer satisfaction and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the body shop.
- Supervise and lead body shop technicians, painters, estimators, and support staff.
- Allocate work effectively to maximize productivity and minimize turnaround time.
- Monitor repair quality to ensure compliance with manufacturer standards and company policies.
- Review repair estimates and approve repair procedures where required.
- Coordinate with insurance companies, surveyors, and customers regarding repair approvals and progress.
- Ensure timely ordering and availability of spare parts and materials.
- Monitor workshop productivity, efficiency, and labor utilization.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workshop environment.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Handle customer concerns professionally and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Conduct staff performance evaluations and identify training and development needs.
- Prepare operational reports, productivity reports, and monthly performance summaries.
- Control workshop expenses and work towards achieving revenue and profitability targets.
- Ensure proper maintenance of workshop equipment and tools.
