Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Biomedical Engineer role based in Doha, Qatar. The Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for installing, commissioning, and maintaining medical equipment, ensuring that all devices operate safely and efficiently. Daily tasks include performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, and coordinating with suppliers or manufacturers for service support and spare parts. The role involves conducting equipment performance checks, calibrations, and safety inspections in compliance with relevant standards and healthcare regulations. The Biomedical Engineer will also prepare maintenance records, support clinical staff with equipment use and best practices, and collaborate with other departments to plan equipment upgrades, replacements, and lifecycle management.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Engineering to support the selection, integration, and optimization of medical equipment and systems.
- Hands-on experience with Medical Equipment and related technologies used in healthcare, diagnostics, and clinical environments.
- Proficiency in Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance, including troubleshooting, calibration, safety checks, and documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Knowledge of healthcare safety standards, regulatory requirements, and medical device risk management.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills with attention to detail and reliability.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with clinical, technical, and vendor teams in a multicultural environment.
- Prior experience in hospital, clinical, or medical distribution settings in the Middle East is an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site in Doha, Qatar, with flexibility to respond to urgent maintenance needs when required.
