Job Description
Baxterstorey is seeking a skilled and passionate Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting exceptional coffee beverages and providing outstanding customer service in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, including espresso‑based beverages, using high‑quality beans and proper techniques
- Operate and maintain coffee equipment, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to food safety standards
- Take customer orders, handle transactions, and provide knowledgeable recommendations about our coffee offerings
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and maintain a clean, organised work area
- Stay updated on coffee trends and Baxterstorey’s product range to enhance the customer experience
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Barista, preferably in a busy café or coffee shop environment
- Excellent knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and ability to consistently produce high‑quality beverages
- Proficiency in operating espresso machines and other coffee equipment
- Strong latte art skills
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Food safety certification (desirable)
- In‑depth knowledge of coffee beans, roasts, and brewing methods
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as required
