Job Summary:
We are looking for an Interior 3D Designer Carpenter who combines creativity, carpentry expertise, and 3D design proficiency to craft functional and visually appealing furniture, cabinetry, and interior structures for one of our construction client in Al Ain ,UAE The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing custom interior elements using advanced 3D software, as well as overseeing the production and installation of these designs. This is a unique role for someone who has a strong foundation in both carpentry and interior design, with a flair for using modern design tools to bring concepts to life.
Key Responsibilities:
3D Interior Design:
Use 3D design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, 3ds Max) to create interior design concepts, including custom furniture, cabinetry, wall treatments, and other structural elements.
Develop accurate 3D models, renderings, and floor plans that align with client preferences and architectural specifications.
Ensure designs are functional, aesthetically appealing, and optimized for production and installation.
Furniture and Interior Design Development:
Design bespoke furniture and interior components tailored to clients’ needs and the overall design vision of the space.
Select appropriate materials (wood, metals, finishes, fabrics) that enhance the design while ensuring durability and practicality.
Provide clear instructions and specifications for construction, detailing dimensions, materials, and assembly processes.
Prototyping & Visualization:
Create 3D prototypes and visual renderings for client presentations, ensuring clarity in design and allowing clients to envision the final product.
Revise designs based on client feedback, incorporating adjustments for aesthetics, functionality, and production feasibility.
Carpentry and Production Oversight:
Collaborate with carpenters and other craftspeople to ensure the accurate translation of designs into physical products.
Oversee the construction of custom furniture pieces, cabinetry, and interior woodwork, ensuring all designs are executed with precision and quality craftsmanship.
Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the production process, adjusting designs as necessary to ensure the final product meets expectations.
Client Interaction & Consultation:
Work directly with clients to understand their design preferences, needs, and spatial requirements.
Present 3D renderings and design proposals, explaining the technical aspects of designs and materials.
Offer design solutions that integrate both aesthetic appeal and practical functionality for the space.
Project Management:
Manage multiple interior design and carpentry projects from concept to completion, adhering to deadlines and budget constraints.
Ensure smooth coordination between design teams, production teams, and clients to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of custom projects.
Keep clients informed of project progress, making adjustments as necessary based on their feedback.
Innovation & Sustainability:
Stay updated on the latest trends in interior design and carpentry techniques, incorporating modern materials and innovative design concepts.
Implement sustainable design practices by using eco-friendly materials and processes, where possible.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
A degree or certification in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Carpentry, or a related field is preferred.
Additional training or certification in 3D design software is an advantage.
Experience:
Proven experience in both interior design and carpentry, with a portfolio showcasing projects involving custom woodwork and interior furnishings.
Experience using 3D design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, or similar).
Experience in creating detailed 3D models, floor plans, and furniture designs for residential or commercial projects.
Skills:
Strong proficiency in 3D design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, or similar tools.
Deep knowledge of carpentry techniques, wood materials, and finishes.
Ability to translate 3D models into physical, tangible products with a high level of craftsmanship.
Ability to create technical drawings and plans for production teams and carpenters.
Strong communication skills for client consultations and teamwork.
Strong problem-solving skills to address design challenges and production constraints.
Ability to multitask and manage several design projects simultaneously.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in both an office/design studio and workshop setting.
Comfortable working with hand tools and power tools in the production process.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with advanced tools such as CNC machinery or 3D printing in furniture design.
Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly design and material sourcing.
Familiarity with different production methods and manufacturing processes.
Previous experience in managing large-scale interior projects, especially in custom design.
Working Conditions:
The position will require both office-based design work and hands-on involvement in carpentry or installation processes.
Occasional site visits may be required to oversee installations or ensure that designs are being executed as per specifications.
Standard working hours, with potential for overtime during peak project timelines.
