About the Role
We are seeking an experienced AV Technician to join a leading Facilities Management organization on a temporary contract (approximately 3 months). The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audiovisual systems and satellite TV infrastructure within a hospitality environment, ensuring reliable support for guest rooms, meeting facilities, conferences, and special events.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot audiovisual and SMATV (Satellite Master Antenna Television) systems.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on AV equipment and associated infrastructure.
- Monitor RF distribution systems and TV signal quality to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Install and terminate coaxial, Cat5e/Cat6, fibre optic, and HDMI cabling.
- Set up and operate audiovisual equipment for meetings, conferences, banquets, weddings, and corporate events.
- Configure projectors, LED displays, LCD TVs, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, digital mixers, and presentation systems.
- Conduct sound checks, equipment testing, and system verification before events.
- Provide on-site technical support during live events and resolve audio or video issues promptly.
- Maintain AV equipment inventory and ensure proper storage and handling.
- Prepare maintenance reports and record faults, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with HSE procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
Requirements
- Diploma or Technical Qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Audio Visual Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in an AV Technician role.
- Experience with professional audiovisual equipment and SMATV systems.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Audio systems, amplifiers, speakers, and microphones
- Projectors, LED displays, LCD TVs, and presentation systems
- Digital mixers and video switching equipment
- RF distribution systems
- Structured cabling (Coaxial, Cat5e/Cat6, Fibre Optic, HDMI)
- Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and support live events.
- Flexibility to work shifts or extended hours when required.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience within hotels, hospitality, or facilities management.
- Experience supporting conference rooms, banquet halls, and corporate events.
- AVIXA CTS or other relevant AV certifications would be an advantage.
Pay: QAR1,659.12 – QAR5,526.34 per month
