Role Description
United International Group is seeking an experienced Automation Technician to join our engineering team in Jeddah. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing automated material handling equipment (MHE) and control systems to ensure maximum operational efficiency and equipment uptime.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automated systems and conveyor equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled automation systems.
- Diagnose faults in SCADA, HMI, VFD, and electrical control systems.
- Monitor equipment performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support installation, commissioning, and testing of new automation equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and technical documentation.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and IT teams to ensure system reliability.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Automation, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automation, controls, or material handling systems.
- Hands‑on experience with PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, and VFDs.
- Experience working with conveyor and sortation systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault‑finding skills.
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Good communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in logistics, warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial automation environments.
- Knowledge of control system programming and industrial networking.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, Solid Works, or similar tools.
- Understanding of safety standards and best maintenance practices.
