Automation Solutions Engineer, Global RME

We are looking for an experienced Automation Solutions Engineer (ASE) to join our Global Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, focusing on design, program, test and implement software solutions and processes that enhance the productivity and quality of our fulfillment sites.
This global role is an opportunity to become part of our team and make a real impact in different Amazon sites across the world, managing large-scale projects and initiatives, providing technical support to local teams and creatinginnovative solutionsto adopt world class automated technologies and systems.
In your role you will:
Understand and troubleshootmaterial handlingcontrol systems, including PLC/PC controllers, industrial networks (Ethernet, Control Net, Device Net, Profibus, Profinet, ASi), motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.
Programming and source coding for in-house built solutions based in PLC or PC controllers and SCADA/OEE platforms.
Lead internationalinnovative solutionsrelated to Automation Systems.
Project Management(PM) of large-scale initiatives that will require work activities coordination of site-based Automation Engineers (AE) to accomplish goals of the business.
Apply Subject Matter Expertise (SME) on troubleshooting and dive deep for engineering issues, supporting local teams to investigate the root cause and planning actions to eliminate/mitigate the downtime of critical assets.
Create, optimize and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for controlling the efficiency, availability and quality of the machines, generating reports for improvement purposes.
Manage and deal with Vendors to plan and coordinate ticket resolution for local teams or network wide issues.
Provide technical guidance and decision making forcollaborationprojects or initiatives with other Amazon teams, being a key stakeholder in supporting technical and major network support requests.
Ensure remote troubleshooting capability is available on a rotational system to provide 24/7/365 support for all hardware or controls software systems within the sites locations.
Is required to travel to sites for support around 30%. This role is for EU-D AE Team, which scope is within Europe.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– Bachelor’s degree
– Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
– Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
– Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
– PLC Knowledge and experience in troubleshooting different machines and devices. Siemens or A&B min. requirement. Other types is a plus
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
– Experience building services using AWS products
