Summary
Position: Freelance Automation Engineer
Duration: 2 months (full-time, ~100–160 hours)
Scope: Complete automation control system design for HFFS packaging line
Project Overview:
Design and implement a complete automation control system for a packaging line featuring an HFFS (Horizontal Form Fill Seal) machine, conveyor system, and labeling machine. You’ll work independently on electrical design, PLC programming, machine integration, and system commissioning—with a focus on PLC-to-server communication and predictive maintenance in Month 2.
Core Responsibilities:
1) Electrical & Sensor Design:
- Design electrical control panel (motor starters, VFDs, safety relays, circuit protection).
- Specify and integrate sensors (proximity, pressure, temperature, speed, photo-eye).
- Plan PLC I/O layout and signal conditioning.
2) PLC Programming & Integration
- Write core PLC program for HFFS → Conveyor → Labeling sequencing.
- Implement speed synchronization and safety interlocks
- Program PLC-to-PLC communication (Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, Profibus, etc.).
- Develop error detection and recovery logic.
3) Documentation & Support
- Create operator manuals, technician guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Write maintenance plans (preventive, predictive, spare parts).
- Provide post-launch support.
