Job Title: 3D Exhibition Draftsman
Department: Design / Exhibition & Events
Reports To: Design Manager / Project Manager
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented 3D Exhibition Draftsman to prepare accurate 3D models, technical drawings, and production-ready documentation for exhibition stands, kiosks, retail displays, events, and other temporary structures. The candidate will work closely with designers, project managers, production teams, and clients to convert creative concepts into practical and buildable designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D exhibition stand models based on design concepts, layouts, sketches, and client requirements.
- Prepare accurate shop drawings, fabrication drawings, construction details, elevations, sections, and floor plans.
- Produce production-ready drawings with correct dimensions, materials, finishes, and construction details.
- Translate 2D concepts and design ideas into accurate 3D models.
- Coordinate designs with carpentry, metalwork, graphics, electrical, lighting, AV, furniture, and other technical requirements.
- Ensure designs are practical, structurally feasible, and suitable for fabrication and installation.
- Revise drawings and 3D models based on feedback from clients, designers, project managers, and production teams.
- Prepare material and component details required for fabrication and installation.
- Coordinate with suppliers and production teams to resolve technical and dimensional issues.
- Maintain proper drawing standards, file organization, revisions, and documentation.
- Conduct site measurements and surveys when required.
- Support the design team during the development of exhibition stands, retail displays, event structures, and branded environments.
- Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, venue regulations, and relevant safety requirements.
- Meet project deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in exhibition stand design, event production, interior fit-out, retail display, or a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of 3D modeling and technical drafting.
- Proficiency in software such as:
- 3ds Max / SketchUp / Rhino or similar 3D modeling software
- AutoCAD for technical drawings
- Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator for basic graphic and presentation requirements
- Good understanding of materials, fabrication methods, joinery, finishes, and construction techniques.
- Ability to interpret design concepts and convert them into accurate technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of dimensions, scale, construction details, and spatial planning.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
