Job Title: CAD Designer / Draughtsman

Job Summary
The CAD Designer / Draughtsman is responsible for preparing accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings, fabrication drawings, shop drawings, and production layouts for Cable Management Systems. The role works closely with the Estimation, Sales, Production, and Project teams to ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, industry standards, and manufacturing requirements.
Key Responsibilities Design & Drafting
· Prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD and other approved design software.
· Develop fabrication, shop, assembly, and installation drawings for cable management systems.
· Interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to prepare coordinated layouts.
· Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, sectional views, and detailed fabrication drawings.
· Revise drawings based on client comments, consultant feedback, and internal design changes.
· Maintain drawing standards, numbering, revision control, and documentation.
Engineering Coordination
· Coordinate with the Estimation, Sales, Production, and Project teams to understand project requirements.
· Provide technical support during project execution and manufacturing.
· Clarify design details with consultants, contractors, and clients when required.
· Ensure drawings are released on schedule to support production and project deadlines.
Production Support
· Prepare manufacturing drawings suitable for CNC machines, laser cutting, punching, bending, and fabrication.
· Generate material take-offs (MTO) and Bills of Materials (BOM) from approved drawings.
· Assist the Production Department with technical clarifications.
· Ensure drawings comply with manufacturing capabilities and quality standards.
Documentation
· Maintain an organized database of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
· Ensure all drawings are properly archived and controlled.
· Follow company drawing standards and document management procedures.
Quality & Compliance
· Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, international standards, and company quality procedures.
· Identify design conflicts and recommend practical engineering solutions.
· Coordinate with Quality Control to resolve drawing-related issues.
Qualifications
· Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related field.
· 3–5 years of UAE experience as a CAD Designer or Draughtsman in a manufacturing, MEP, or steel fabrication company.
· Experience in Cable Management Systems, Sheet Metal Fabrication, Structural Steel, or MEP Products is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
· AutoCAD (2D & 3D)
· Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD software (preferred)
· Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
· Knowledge of fabrication drawings and sheet metal design
· Material Take-Off (MTO)
· Bill of Materials (BOM) preparation
· Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
· Basic understanding of CNC, laser cutting, punching, and bending processes
