Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Auto Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing electrical systems in both light vehicles and heavy-duty vehicles (compactors, skip loaders, and other industrial machinery). The ideal individual will possess an extensive knowledge of automotive electrical systems, a strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, and a dedication to ensuring the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Diagnostics & Repair: Conduct detailed diagnostics of electrical systems in heavy vehicles such as compactors, skip loaders, and other large machinery. Identify, troubleshoot, and repair electrical faults in components including wiring, batteries, alternators, starters, and control systems.

System Installation & Upgrades: Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and components in heavy-duty machinery, including advanced systems like control panels, lighting, power systems, and communication equipment.

Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure reliable operation and extend the lifespan of vehicle components.

Complex Troubleshooting: Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues across a variety of large vehicle types, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all electrical work complies with safety regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and industry standards. Maintain a safe working environment by following proper safety protocols when working on large vehicles and machinery.

Collaboration with Team: Work closely with other mechanics, technicians, and engineers to resolve electrical and mechanical issues, ensuring the continued performance of heavy vehicles in operational environments.

Customer Communication: Provide clear and professional communication to customers regarding the nature of electrical issues, proposed repairs, and the estimated timeline for resolution.

Record Keeping & Reporting: Accurately document all repairs, maintenance, and diagnostic work in customer records and internal reports.
Skills and Qualifications:
Professional Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience as an Auto Electrician, with significant expertise in electrical systems for heavy vehicles (compactors, skip loaders, trucks, etc.).
Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the electrical systems used in large vehicles and machinery, including power distribution, control systems, and electrical schematics.
Diagnostic Tools: Proficient in using diagnostic equipment and tools to assess and repair complex electrical systems on heavy-duty vehicles.
Certifications: Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive electrical systems or heavy machinery (e.g., Auto Electrician apprenticeship, heavy equipment electrical certification).
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with a deep ability to identify and resolve electrical issues in large vehicles.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to customers and provide clear recommendations.
Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, prioritize workloads, and work under tight deadlines.
Licensing: A valid driver’s license is required. A commercial driver’s license (CDL) may be advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Large Equipment: Experience working on or with compactors, skip loaders, cranes, and other heavy machinery is highly desirable.
Advanced Certifications: ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) or equivalent certifications for heavy vehicle electrical systems are preferred.
Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Systems: Familiarity with hybrid or electric vehicle systems, particularly as they relate to large commercial or industrial machinery.
Vehicle Control Modules (ECU): Knowledge of vehicle control modules, ECUs, and diagnostic procedures for advanced electrical systems is a plus.
