Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
- Install, maintain, and repair wiring, lighting systems, batteries, alternators, starters, and ignition systems.
- Diagnose and repair faults in engine management systems using computerized diagnostic equipment.
- Service, repair, and recharge automotive air conditioning (A/C) systems.
- Repair or replace compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, blower motors, and related A/C components.
- Detect and repair refrigerant leaks using approved testing equipment.
- Perform electrical testing using multimeters, scan tools, and other diagnostic instruments.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
- Install electrical accessories such as GPS units, alarms, cameras, lighting, and audio systems, as required.
- Conduct functional testing and road tests to verify repairs.
- Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation.
- Follow manufacturer specifications, company procedures, and workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Keep the workshop, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Technical diploma or vocational certification in Automotive Electrical Systems, Auto Electronics, Automotive Air Conditioning, or a related field.
- Certification for handling automotive refrigerants is an advantage, where required by local regulations.
- Previous experience as an Auto Electrician and/or Automotive A/C Technician is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical, electronic, and air conditioning systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic scanners, multimeters, refrigerant recovery/recharging machines, and specialized service tools.
- Ability to diagnose electrical faults and HVAC system failures accurately.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair tasks.
