Job Purpose:

Qatar will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup and become the first Middle East nation in history to stage this event. The associated construction programme is part of a major country regeneration programme including the development of required infrastructure, competition and noncompetitive venues.

CH2M HILL is the programme management (PMC) responsible for the construction management of competition venues, training sites, associated common domain precincts and the coordination of the regeneration programme integration works, acting on behalf of the client Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee.

To provide strong overall management to the broader programme assurance effort on the 2022 FIFA World Cup Programme. To ensure the highest possible standard of advice is provided to all the management and delivery teams to enable the 2022 FIFA World Cup Programme to establish themselves as industry leaders.

In conjunction with the 2022 FIFA World Cup Head of Assurance identify, develop, publish and monitor HSEQ&S management programs. Provide assurance through PMC and Project Management HSEQ&S audits, monitoring and reporting arrangements. Provide visible engagement with delivery teams to ensure they have suitable HSEQ&S provisions. Provide coaching and support to stakeholders and be an ambassador for the vision of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the initiatives of the Programme.

Work together with government authorities, national committees and key stakeholders to establish effective strategies, common standards, and their coordinated implementation. Promote continuous improvements wherever they arise within the programme, supply chain and all stakeholders. Coordinate activities of the HSEQ&S Assurance, so that they align with 2022 FIFA World Cup objectives and project delivery requirements.

Key Qualifications

  • Degree, Diploma or equivalent – Preferable
  • 15-20 years experience on large construction projects and or similar role
  • Excellent managerial and administrative skills possessing the ability to develop positive working relationships
  • Proven network and outreach capabilities
  • Excellent organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate internally and externally
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of essential PC and standard applications software
