What You’ll Be Doing
- Performs well‑defined field engineering assignments primarily involving constructability reviews and the observation of work in progress.
- Maintains first‑level quality assurance to confirm that the installation of all work within his/her discipline is in accordance with the plans, specifications, and industry standards.
- Provides resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline; coordinates application of solutions.
- Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for landscape and irrigation works, providing recommendations to the Resident Engineer.
- Proficient in hardscape detailing (walls, finishes, water features) and softscape (soil, plant materials, planting techniques) in addition to good exposure to play/fitness equipment, site furniture and shading structures.
- Establishes and maintains liaison with the discipline design engineering staff.
- Monitors discipline construction schedules and assists in progress appraisal.
- Provides schedule and progress appraisal data to the Resident Engineer.
- Monitors material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline.
- Ensures that tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in accordance with approved procedures.
- Collaborates with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.
- Ensures that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site‑specific safety procedures and industry standards.
- Maintains a daily log for permanent record of project construction, as well as discipline data for the final project turnover and report.
- Maintains construction technical catalogs, supplier data, and other literature pertaining to the project.
- Review Contractor’s submissions.
- Prepare progress report as deemed necessary.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Required Skills
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 8+ years post graduate experience in site supervision, and construction management of infrastructure, roads & utility projects.
- Demonstrable experience in all aspects of site projects, RF supervision on roads and general infrastructure projects preferably in Abu Dhabi.
- Familiar with authorities regulations and approval process.
- Good experience with DMT or ADM projects is an advantage.
- Must be fluent in English both written and spoken with an excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills.
Desired Skills
- Must have a good knowledge about contractual relationships.
- Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.
- Keep necessary records and As‑built records and take charge of the handing over of the utility works to the respective service authorities and assist the contractor to obtain necessary.
