Job Purpose
Support the development, coordination, and maintenance of category-level procurement plans by translating consolidated demand, spend insights, and risk considerations into structured sourcing roadmaps across SOPC and federations. The role ensures that category plans are evidence-based, aligned with enterprise procurement priorities, and sequenced in a manner that enables effective sourcing, aggregation, governance, and execution by procurement operations and category teams.
Job Specific Accountabilities
Category Planning & Strategy Support
- Support the development of annual and multi-year category procurement plans aligned with consolidated demand and approved procurement strategies.
- Translate aggregated demand, spend analysis, and risk inputs into structured category sourcing roadmaps, including sourcing approach, timing, and aggregation opportunities.
- Support definition of category objectives, sourcing waves, and prioritization logic in line with SOPC procurement principles.
- Maintain category planning templates, methodologies, and documentation to ensure consistency across categories.
Demand Integration & Alignment
- Work closely with the Spend & Demand Analysis function to integrate validated demand and spend insights into category plans.
- Ensure category plans accurately reflect approved demand volumes, timelines, and business requirements across SOPC and federations.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and federations to clarify category requirements, dependencies, and constraints.
- Flag demand risks, misalignment, or feasibility issues that may impact category execution.
Sourcing Readiness & Coordination
- Support readiness of category plans for handover to procurement operations and sourcing teams.
- Coordinate with category managers and procurement operations to validate sourcing timelines, packaging strategies, and resource requirements.
- Support identification of market, supplier, and execution risks that may affect sourcing outcomes.
- Track progress of category planning milestones and highlight deviations or risks to management.
Governance & Compliance Support
- Ensure category plans are aligned with procurement governance frameworks, including sourcing methods, aggregation rules, and approval thresholds.
- Support application of category governance processes, ensuring appropriate sourcing strategies and risk mitigation approaches are documented.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation related to category planning decisions, assumptions, and approvals.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare category planning summaries, trackers, and status updates for procurement leadership and governance forums.
- Support periodic reviews of category plans to reflect changes in demand, priorities, or market conditions.
- Maintain centralized records of category plans, updates, and approvals in line with documentation standards.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with procurement planning, analytics, operations, and finance teams to ensure alignment and clarity across category planning activities.
- Support communication of category planning priorities and timelines to relevant stakeholders in a clear and structured manner.
