ROLE PURPOSE

The role is responsible for improving asset and service visibility, strengthening configuration governance, driving automation and AI-enabled data management capabilities, and enabling accurate operational reporting and informed decision-making across technology functions.

- Configuration Management Strategy & Governance
- Develop and maintain Configuration Management strategies, policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
- Establish controls that ensure consistent management of configuration data across technology environments.
- Promote adoption of Configuration Management best practices across technology functions.
- Monitor compliance with Configuration Management standards and governance requirements.
- CMDB/CMS Data Quality Management
- Lead initiatives to improve the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of CMDB and CMS data.
- Establish data quality metrics and monitoring mechanisms to identify and address inconsistencies.
- Ensure configuration items, services, and relationships are accurately maintained.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase data quality and integrity.
- Asset & Service Visibility Enhancement
- Improve the visibility and coverage of infrastructure assets, applications, services, and dependencies within the CMDB/CMS.
- Establish processes to ensure newly introduced assets and services are accurately recorded.
- Validate relationships between configuration items to improve service mapping accuracy.
- Support the creation of a comprehensive technology asset inventory.
- Configuration Data Lifecycle Management
- Govern the lifecycle of configuration data from creation through retirement.
- Ensure configuration data remains current, relevant, and aligned with operational requirements.
- Define ownership, stewardship, and accountability for configuration records.
- Establish procedures for ongoing maintenance and validation of configuration information.
- AI & Automation Enablement
- Drive the adoption of AI-powered and automated capabilities within Configuration Management processes.
- Support automated discovery, relationship mapping, and configuration validation activities.
- Leverage automation tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Identify opportunities to apply artificial intelligence for proactive data quality improvement and anomaly detection.
- Reporting, Analytics & Decision Support
- Develop dashboards, reports, and key performance indicators related to CMDB/CMS effectiveness.
- Provide insights into data quality, asset coverage, service dependencies, and governance compliance.
- Support operational and strategic decision-making through reliable Configuration Management data.
- Enhance reporting capabilities to increase transparency and visibility across technology operations.
