Title: Assistant Manager, Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity
Duration: 6 months
Location: Al Khobar
Qualifications & Experience
- Overall Experience: Minimum 4+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity.
- OT/ICS Experience: Minimum 3 years of direct, hands-on experience in OT/ICS security, preferably within the Oil & Gas, Power & Utilities, or manufacturing sectors.
- Consulting Background: A proven track record in a Big 4 or comparable blue-chip consulting firm is highly advantageous.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics), Computer Science, or a related technology field.
- Certifications: Professional qualifications such as ISA/IEC 62443, IEC 61511/IEC 61508 Functional Safety, GICSP, CISSP, or ISO 27001 are strongly preferred.
- Dragos Certification Mandatory
Technical Expertise
- Frameworks and Standards:
- Deep knowledge and practical experience applying NCA (ECC, OTCC), NIST CSF & SP800-82, IEC 61511/IEC 61508, and the ISA/IEC 62443 series.
- Proven experience to conduct gap assessments against these standards/ guidance and develop strategic roadmaps for remediation.
- OT/ICS Systems & Protocols:
- Strong understanding of Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and SCADA components (e.g., PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, Engineering Workstations).
- Familiarity with major vendor platforms (e.g., Honeywell, Siemens, GE, ABB, Schneider Electric).
- Solid knowledge of industrial network protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3/ IEC104, IEC61850, Profinet, OPC) and their inherent vulnerabilities.
- OT Security Architecture & Networking:
- Expertise in designing and assessing secure OT network architectures, including network segmentation.
- Experience in reviewing and developing secure firewall rule sets, managing remote access solutions, and implementing unidirectional gateways.
- Security Solutions & Tools:
- Monitoring & Detection: Experience with OT-native security monitoring platforms for asset discovery and threat detection.
- SIEM: Knowledge of integrating OT log sources (e.g., historians, HMIs) with SIEM platforms.
- Protection: Experience with endpoint protection strategies in sensitive OT environments, such as application whitelisting, host-based intrusion detection (HIDS), and removable media controls.
- Risk & Vulnerability Management:
- Experience leading OT vulnerability assessments and risk analysis, using both passive (network listening) and safe-active (OT-aware) scanning techniques.
- Leading cybersecurity risk workshops leveraging identified process hazards and operational context.
- Strong understanding of OT-specific patch management challenges and compensation controls.
