Position: Assistant Headteacher – KS1, ASTON EDUCATION
Assistant Headteacher – KS1 at the British International School, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Start date:
17th August 2026. Annual Tax‑Free Salary: £40,000 – £54,500 plus benefits including housing, flight allowance, medical and gratuity (worth over £15,000).
Responsibilities
The Assistant Headteacher – KS1 holds strategic and operational responsibility for Key Stage 1, which currently has over ten forms of entry in Year 1 and Year 2. In this role you will:
- Ensure that the provision across Key Stage 1 reflects the highest standards of teaching, learning, safeguarding, and pastoral care.
- Collaborate with the Primary Senior Management team to secure outstanding outcomes for students.
- Provide class‑level coaching and curriculum planning without holding a class teacher responsibility.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor of Education (BEd) or PGCE and a relevant degree
- Proven experience raising achievement and coaching to support improved teaching and learning
- Successful UK leadership and management experience of KS1 at a primary school
- Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for KS1
- Commitment to excellence, inclusivity, and community
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
