Roles and Responsibilities
Assist Head of Sound to manage and oversee sound operations as needed;
Apply corrective measures as required by the Head of Sound;
Collaborate with the Head of Sound to ensure the sound concept is respected;
Collaborate with the Head of Sound with adjustments needed for buyout performances and extra events held in the La Perle theatre;
Lead the Sound Team in the Head of Sound’s absence;
Operate all SVC (Sound, Video, Comms) show tracks during rehearsals and performances;
Ensure that all SVC systems are functioning smoothly;
Ensure the sound team and technical personnel
respect
standards and regulations regarding the safety of sound equipment, and apply safe work methods;
Train and supervise sound technicians as planned;
Inspect and maintain sound equipment, and keep records of inspections and alterations;
Keep sound archives, stock lists and technical documentation up to date;
Respect
and support procedures and requirements set by Al Habtoor/La Perle;
Maintain a
positive working
atmosphere for the Sound team;
Strong skills in maintenance of Sound, Video and Communications systems.
Qualifications College diploma (or equivalent) in live entertainment, theatre production, sound technology or electronics (or equivalent work experience);
Six to eight years’ experience as a Sound Engineer working in live professional performance;
Strong technical knowledge of digital & analogue sound equipment;
Good general understanding of all technical aspects of a show;
Ability to work with a small team and take directions from HOD;
Flexibility

Ability to handle contingencies and work well under pressure;
Strong knowledge of both Mac OSX & Windows;
Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
