The Assistant Financial Controller will assist the Finance Director in overseeing all financial operations in the Group, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, tax compliance, and financial reporting. This role plays a critical part in supporting the Group’s leadership with timely financial insights and ensuring regulatory adherence across all financial activities. The ideal candidate will have Real Estate Industry experience, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to lead a small team.
Accounting and Reporting
Oversee general ledger and accounts payable functions.
Review individual entity-level GL and TB, and work with accountants to close monthly and annual
financials.
Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for all companies within the Group, in accordance with IFRS.
Preparation of monthly board packs for Leadership team
Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk.
Advise leadership on any financial planning, investment, and cost optimisation.
Audit Management, including supporting the preparation of statutory accounts and audit materials.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Implementation of a budgeting and forecasting process.
Leading the process, including working with the Business Unit Heads.
Review and variance analysis, including revisions as appropriate.
Processes and Procedures
Ensure all financial processes are fully implemented and documented.
Maintain and enhance internal financial controls and policies, ensuring compliance with financial best practices.
External Parties
Coordinate audits and liaise with banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
Ensure VAT filings and compliance with UAE tax laws.
Team Coordination
Supervise, mentor, and develop finance and accounting staff.
Policies and Procedures
Speak with clients and/or coworkers using clear and professional language.
Maintain confidentiality of company materials and information.
Protect the privacy and security of clients and/or coworkers.
Follow company and department policies and procedures.
Other Duties

Person Specification
4-5 years in finance roles, with 1-2 years in a senior or assistant controller position, preferably with experience in Dubai’s real estate or property brokerage sector
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Professionally qualified Accountant (eg CPA, ACCA, CMA)
Proficiency in financial software (Xero, Tally or similar)
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills would be an advantage.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
High attention to detail and analytical thinking.
Commercial acumen and strategic mindset.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ethical, trustworthy, and discreet with sensitive information.
Knowledge of UAE VAT laws.
Ability to manage a small team effectively.
English. Arabic would be advantageous.
