Job Summary

NOTE:
This vacancy is being announced at two different job classes at the same time, Engineer Senior and Engineer 2 Graduate. The final class and starting salary are dependent on the successful applicant’s qualifications.
This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul. This position will have theflexibilityto telecommute, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent may be expected to work in the office on occasion.
Job Duties:
This position will assist the DesignFlexibilityEngineer and Design Support Section Director with analysis, research, technical writing, and design investigation. Provide assistance, information and training to MnDOT district offices and the statewide road design community. Tasks will include:
Responding to inquiries regarding Performance-Based Practical Design (PBPD) process and principles.
Reviewing design memoranda and geometric layouts.
Aiding in concept and preliminary design development.
Contributing to training efforts and assisting in the implementation of PBPD and complete streets.
Assisting with project development activities related to geometric design.
