Assistant Cook Jobs in Abu Dhabi at TU Holdings
The Cook Assistant supports the kitchen staff in preparing and cooking food in a professional kitchen environment. They assist the head chef and other kitchen staff in various tasks such as chopping, preparing ingredients, cooking, and maintaining cleanliness. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, excellent teamwork skills, and a desire to learn in a fast-paced kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation: Assist in preparing and chopping vegetables, meats, and other ingredients as required for various dishes.
Cooking Assistance: Help with basic cooking tasks such as grilling, frying, baking, and plating food.
Cleaning & Organization: Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by following hygiene standards, washing dishes, cleaning countertops, and ensuring the workspace is safe and organized.
Ingredient Handling: Ensure proper storage and handling of food ingredients and assist with inventory control.
Equipment Handling: Operate kitchen appliances and equipment, including ovens, stoves, and blenders, under supervision.
Assist in Menu Execution: Work with the chef to prepare dishes according to the daily menu and special requests.
Assist with Stocking & Restocking: Help with the arrival of new stock and ensure that the kitchen is always stocked with necessary items.
Adhere to Safety and Hygiene Standards: Follow all safety and sanitation regulations to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Support the Team: Communicate with kitchen staff, dishwashers, and servers to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Qualifications:
Experience: Prior kitchen experience or a passion for cooking is preferred, but not required.
Skills: Ability to follow instructions, work efficiently under pressure, and multitask.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications: Food safety certification (if required by local law).
Personal Attributes: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.
