Position: Assistant/Associate Professor (Software Engineering / Computer Science /Information Systems)

Duties & Responsibilities
The primary role of the faculty members at the School of Computing and Information Technology is to promote high‑quality innovative teaching, applied research, and services. The faculty will collaborate with the Department Chair, School’s Dean, and colleagues to achieve the department and school mission, mentor junior colleagues, teaching assistants, and support the department and the school with several administrative and academic services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of a broad range of courses, particularly in Software Engineering, Web and Mobile Development, and Database Design and Administration. Other duties include evaluation of student progress, management of learning resources, liaison with industry and educational institutions, participation in industry advisory committees, coordination of projects, maintenance of course portfolio documents for accreditation, and engagement in instructional development and improvement plans.
All employees are expected to contribute to professional and community life within the College and beyond.
Qualifications For Assistant Professor
A PhD degree in a computing field such as Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or a closely related field. Three years teaching experience in a higher‑education environment, along with three years of employment experience as a practitioner/professional within a relevant discipline is preferred.
- Contribution to the advancement of knowledge through applied research, scholarship, publication, knowledge transfer or professional practice with an international scope; a minimum of 2 journal articles indexed in Scopus or similar are required.
- Contribution to the advancement of learning by the leadership of teaching and curriculum development.
- Professional recognition and standing among peers.
- Academic subject leadership or academic management.
For Associate Professor
A PhD degree in a computing field such as Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field. A minimum of 5 years teaching experience in a higher‑education environment is required. Also, 5 years of industrial experience as a practitioner/professional within a relevant discipline is preferred.
- Contribution to the advancement of knowledge through applied research, scholarship, publication, knowledge transfer or professional practice with an international scope; a minimum of 5 journal articles indexed in Scopus or similar are required.
- Contribution to the advancement of learning by the leadership of teaching and curriculum development.
- Professional recognition and standing among peers.
- Academic subject leadership or academic management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications in Computing and Information Technology.
- Record of successful participation/leadership in applied research projects.
- Experience in leadership and innovation in technology‑based projects.
- Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Education (e.g. Post‑Secondary Education, Adult Education or Vocational Education).
