Job Summary:
The Assets Controller is responsible for managing and tracking company assets,
Ensuring accurate asset records and maintaining compliance with financial and operational policies.
This role involves asset registration, tracking, maintenance coordination, and reporting to optimize asset utilization and minimize losses.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Asset Management & Tracking:
Maintain an up-to-date record of all company assets, including equipment, vehicles, and property.
Conduct regular asset verification and physical inspections to ensure accuracy.
Assign asset identification tags and ensure proper documentation.
2. Asset Utilization & Maintenance Coordination:
Monitor asset usage to ensure efficiency and prevent misuse.
Coordinate with relevant departments for scheduled maintenance and repairs.
Ensure assets are properly allocated.
3. Financial & Compliance Reporting:
Maintain asset depreciation schedules and ensure accurate accounting entries.
Prepare monthly and annual asset reports for management review.
Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and audit requirements.
4. Procurement & Disposal:
Assist in asset acquisition by reviewing purchase requests and verifying requirements.
Evaluate and recommend asset disposal plans for obsolete or non-functional assets.
Maintain proper documentation for asset transfers, disposals, and write-offs.
5. Risk Management & Loss Prevention:
Identify potential risks related to asset mismanagement and suggest preventive measures.
Investigate missing, damaged, or stolen assets and report findings to management.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Previous experience in asset management, inventory control (preferably in catering, hospitality).
Strong knowledge of asset management systems and accounting software (preferred: Microsoft Dynamics NAV).
Strong Microsoft Excel and financial reporting skills.
Reporting & Collaboration:
Reports to the Finance Manager and works closely with procurement, operations, and accounting teams.
