Responsible for achieving the sales and distribution targets of the assigned area by managing the field sales team — Supervisors, Van Salesmen, and Merchandisers — building strong relationships with customers and distributors and ensuring effective execution of the company’s commercial strategies to drive sustainable growth in market share and revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the area’s sales plan in line with the company’s overall commercial objectives.
- Manage and supervise the area’s field team — Supervisors, Van Salesmen, and Merchandisers — assigning targets and monitoring their performance.
- Plan and manage Van Sales routes and schedules to ensure optimal market coverage and efficient distribution.
- Monitor Van Salesmen’s daily activities, stock loading/reconciliation, cash collection, and adherence to company policies.
- Oversee Merchandisers’ work to ensure proper product availability, visibility, shelf placement, and merchandising standards across all outlets.
- Guide and evaluate Supervisors in managing their teams and achieving area targets.
- Achieve the area’s sales and distribution targets (numeric and weighted distribution).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
- Analyze sales data and market performance in the area, and prepare regular reports for senior management.
- Track competitor activities and market changes, and recommend appropriate action plans.
- Manage the area’s operating budget and control expenses in line with the approved plan.
- Coordinate with marketing, supply chain, and logistics teams to ensure product availability and execution of promotional campaigns.
- Train, coach, and develop the field team (Supervisors, Van Salesmen, Merchandisers) to enhance performance and achieve targets.
- Follow up on collections from customers and distributors, ensuring compliance with agreed credit terms.
