Amazon is seeking Area Managers for our Fulfillment Centers (FCs). Amazon is one of the most recognizable brand names in the world and we distribute millions of products each year to our loyal customers.

Four key areas that you’ll always focus on are the safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity of your department.

Responsibilities:

Area Managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development and operations objectives for one functional area of our Fulfillment Center (Inbound or Outbound).

Manage and lead a team of Process Assistants, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met.

Build positive employee relations and leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center.

Drive creation of staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other Change/Six Sigma initiatives.

Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Process Assistants.

Measure performance, provide feedback, and hold Process Assistants accountable for their performance.

Leverage the Area Managers and Process Assistants by sourcing and nurturing ideas for improvement plans.

Ensure best practices are shared across all departments, shifts, and among the network.

Work closely with support staff (HR Manager, Financial Manager, Facilities Manager, S&LP Manager, and Other Ops. Managers, IT Manager) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives.

Address operational and personnel issues affecting functional area.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

– 1+ years of employee and performance management experience
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
– Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
– Can push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience
