Role Description The Architectural Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar, responsible for supporting the design, planning, and execution of restaurant and hospitality projects across Sterling Restaurants’ portfolio. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with architects and civil engineers to develop architectural plans, ensuring compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and brand standards, and coordinating with construction teams to oversee site layouts, structural details, and finishes. The role involves preparing technical drawings and specifications, reviewing and optimizing designs for functionality, aesthetics, and cost-efficiency, and conducting site inspections to monitor progress and quality. The Architectural Engineer will work closely with project managers, operations teams, and external consultants to deliver projects on schedule and within budget, while supporting renovations, fit-outs, and new concept rollouts that enhance guest experience and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare architectural designs, plans, elevations, sections, and detailed construction drawings.
- Develop and revise drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design software.
- Produce 3D models, renderings, and visual presentations for project reviews and client approvals.
- Coordinate architectural works with civil, structural, MEP, and other engineering disciplines.
- Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQs) based on approved drawings and project requirements.
- Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, and technical submissions.
- Review project drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, clients, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in obtaining approvals from relevant local authorities and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Participate in site inspections and provide technical support during construction.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure timely submission of technical documents.
- Resolve design-related issues and support project teams with technical solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Architectural Engineer, preferably in Qatar or the GCC.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; knowledge of SketchUp, 3ds Max, Lumion, or similar 3D visualization software is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of architectural detailing, construction methods, and building materials.
- Experience preparing BOQs, shop drawings, as-built drawings, and technical documentation.
- Good knowledge of construction standards, project documentation, and local authority requirements.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on commercial, residential, hospitality, or industrial projects.
- Familiarity with BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Valid QID with transferable sponsorship or eligibility to work in Qatar is preferred.
