Job Description – Electrical Engineer (Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Approved)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Abu Dhabi Civil Defense (ADCD) Approved Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in firefighting and fire protection system design, ensuring compliance with UAE fire safety regulations. The role involves designing, inspecting, and approving fire detection, alarm, suppression, and emergency electrical systems for various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Fire Protection & Life Safety Systems Design:
Design and review fire detection, alarm, suppression, and emergency electrical systems in compliance with UAE Fire & Life Safety Code and NFPA standards.
Ensure proper integration of fire alarm systems, voice evacuation systems, and emergency lighting into building electrical systems.
Prepare and submit electrical system drawings for Civil Defense approvals.
Regulatory Compliance & Approvals:
Ensure that all fire and electrical systems meet ADCD regulations and obtain necessary approvals.
Handle permit applications and liaise with Abu Dhabi Civil Defense (ADCD) for inspections and certifications.
Stay updated with the latest NFPA codes, UAE fire regulations, and electrical safety standards.
Project Management & Coordination:
Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and fire safety specialists to ensure compliance with fire safety requirements.
Conduct site inspections and verify the proper installation of fire alarm, suppression, and emergency electrical systems.
Assist in fire risk assessments and audits for new and existing buildings.
Testing, Commissioning & Maintenance:
Oversee the testing and commissioning of electrical fire protection systems.
Troubleshoot and ensure the reliability and efficiency of fire safety electrical systems.
Recommend improvements and corrective actions for non-compliant installations.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
Certifications & Approvals:
Civil Defense License (ADCD Approved).
Certificate Equivalency from the Ministry of Education, UAE (Mandatory).
Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience in firefighting and fire protection system design.
Proven track record in handling fire safety approvals and compliance documentation.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of NFPA, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, and ADCD regulations.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software.
Expertise in fire alarm systems, emergency power systems, and voice evacuation systems.
