Job Summary
The Arc Welder is responsible for performing high‑quality welding work using SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) and other welding techniques on construction, fabrication, and maintenance projects. The role requires precision, adherence to safety standards, and extensive hands‑on experience working in industrial or construction environments within the UAE or GCC.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform arc welding (SMAW) on structural steel, pipes, plates, and metal components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication sketches.
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and fitting components before welding.
- Conduct visual inspections and ensure weld quality meets project and industry standards.
- Operate welding equipment, grinders, cutting torches, and related tools safely.
- Perform welding repairs on damaged or worn metal structures.
- Follow all HSE procedures, including PPE usage and safe work practices.
- Coordinate with supervisors, fabricators, and quality inspectors to complete tasks on time.
- Maintain welding equipment and report any faults or required maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with UAE/GCC safety regulations and project specifications.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Arc Welder in the UAE or GCC.
- Strong proficiency in SMAW; experience with FCAW, MIG, or TIG is an advantage.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and welding symbols.
- Certification in welding (3G/4G/6G preferred) from a recognized training institute.
- Knowledge of welding standards (AWS, ASME, or equivalent).
- Good physical fitness and ability to work in hot outdoor environments.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and hazard control.
