We are looking for a qualified Senior Accountant with a professional certification to join our team. We are a high end car rental company in Dubai
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and overseeing key accounting functions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, with a focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and leadership in financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
Ensure financial statements are accurate, compliant with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) or GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and ready for audit. Perform in-depth financial analysis, highlighting variances, trends, and potential areas for cost savings.
General Ledger & Month-End Close:
Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.Lead the month-end close process, ensuring all entries are complete, accurate, and compliant with accounting standards.
Review journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
Accounts Payable/Receivable Oversight:
Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments and collections. Resolve discrepancies with vendors and customers, managing relationships to ensure efficient payment cycles.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, in collaboration with departmental managers. Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts, analyzing and reporting on variances.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial processes to prevent errors and fraud. Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and corporate policies, while adhering to tax reporting requirements. Prepare and assist with audits (internal and external), ensuring the timely provision of information and adherence to audit requirements.
Tax Compliance:
Oversee the preparation of tax filings, including corporate tax, VAT/GST, and other relevant tax returns. Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax returns, collaborating with external tax advisors as necessary. Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and senior management.
Process Improvement & Automation:
Continuously assess and recommend improvements to accounting processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and reduce manual work. Assist with the implementation of accounting software upgrades or new tools to streamline financial reporting and operations.
Experience:
– Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, with at least
1 year in a car rental company.
– Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
– Arabic and English language skills
