Position Description
Job Title: AR/AP Accountant
Reporting Into: Treasury Manager – Middle East

Location: Dubai, UAE
Job Objective:
Ensure accurate and timely recording, reconciliation, and reporting of all Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities. This role is responsible for supporting the Finance Department in maintaining smooth cash flow operations, vendor payments, and client invoicing in alignment with Arena’s financial controls and policies.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full cycle of Accounts Payable (AP), including vendor invoice verification, payment processing, and reconciliations.
Handle Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, including customer invoicing, collections follow-up, and account reconciliation.
Prepare weekly and monthly AR & AP reports
Maintain accurate records of financial transactions related to both AR and AP.
Coordinate with Procurement and Operations teams to validate supplier invoices against POs and delivery notes.
Process employee expenses claims and petty cash reimbursements in a timely manner.
Ensure timely payment of utility bills, subcontractor claims, and contractual obligations.
Reconcile vendor and customer statements regularly and resolve any discrepancies.
Assist in monthly closing processes by preparing schedules and reports related to AP and AR.
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and responses.
Maintain compliance with VAT requirements on all transactions and assist with filing VAT returns.
Continuously identify areas of improvement in accounting processes to increase efficiency.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
3–5 years of experience in a similar AR/AP role.
Experience working in event services, construction, or project-based environments is preferred.
Familiarity with UAE VAT regulations and compliance.
English proficiency required; Arabic is a plus.
