Anatomy Faculty Position

In a pioneering international initiative, Cornell University and Weill Cornell Medical College established Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q) in 2001 through a unique partnership with the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development.

We are seeking an anatomist with substantial experience in teaching medical students, as well as strong leadership skills in developing and delivering anatomy courses gained in an academic medical center in the United States or its equivalent. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency and experience in fresh cadaver dissection and clinical anatomy, at the standard expected for USMLE students, as well as successful teaching of histology, developmental anatomy, and neuroanatomy.

Preference will be given to applicants with evidence of involvement in innovative teaching approaches and a strong record of teaching excellence and commitment.

Qualifications:

Must have:

M.D., Ph.D., or equivalent degree in Anatomy or related field

Minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in all areas of human Anatomy

Record of excellence in teaching and scholarship

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with educational technologies, including virtual and augmented reality, 3D digital anatomy models, and other computer-based educational programs

Teaching experience in diverse learning modalities (PBL, small groups, lectures, bedside, etc.)

Track record of clinical, biomedical, or educational research

Essential Skills:

Excellent communication skills for explaining complex medical terminology and procedures clearly

Strong organizational skills to manage large amounts of information, including student data and research materials

Proven capacity to help students understand complex concepts

Excellent critical thinking skills to create engaging, clinically challenging lessons

Passion for student success

Ability to build trust with colleagues and stakeholders

Ability to set and achieve goals

Adaptive thinking

Cultural humility and appreciation for diversity
