AMI System Operator
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitors and manages AMI systems including Head End System (HES), Meter Data Management (MDM), and communication networks.
- Ensures continuous and seamless communication between smart meters and central systems.
- Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves AMI system issues related to connectivity, data flow, and system performance.
- Escalates complex or unresolved technical issues to higher support levels or vendors following defined procedures.
- Analyzes AMI operational data to provide system performance insights and operational reports.
- Performs first-level diagnosis of communication failures and network performance degradation.
- Coordinates with IT, metering, telecom, and field teams to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Supports system configuration, updates, and minor enhancements under supervision.
- Maintains system logs, incident records, and operational documentation.
- Ensures compliance with ISO, ISMS, BCMS, and cyber security policies related to system operations.
- Ensures adherence to corporate Health and Safety and operational procedures.
- Performs any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Qualifications / Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Experience
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in AMI system monitoring, MDM/HES operations, or similar environments.
Key Skills
- Proficiency in AMI systems and operational software tools.
- Knowledge of smart metering technologies and communication protocols.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and coordination skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Efficiency, Adaptability, Communication, Initiative.
- Written and Spoken English is essential; Arabic is preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Office-based with coordination with field and technical support teams; occasional site interactions as required.
