JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are hiring an Aluminum Erection and Production Engineer who can oversees the entire workflow of aluminum and facade systems, from factory fabrication to on-site installation. This role bridges the gap between the design office, the manufacturing floor, and the construction site to ensure precision, structural integrity, safety, and timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production & Fabrication Management
- Workflow Optimization: Oversee the fabrication and assembly of aluminum profiles, curtain walls, doors, windows, and cladding systems in the factory.
- Drawing & BOM Review: Interpret shop drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure constructability before releasing to the production floor.
- Quality Control (QA/QC): Enforce quality standards, conduct in-process inspections, and manage the rectification of any non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Resource Management: Monitor manpower allocation, track man-hours, and optimize machinery use (e.g., CNC cutting, punch machines) to boost efficiency and minimize material waste.
2. Erection & Site Supervision
- Installation Oversight: Supervise site erection, glazing installation, and sealing processes to ensure they match approved architectural and structural drawings.
- Schedule Alignment: Ensure that factory production and material delivery strictly align with the site’s installation sequence and timeline.
- Site Coordination: Work alongside project managers, main contractors, and MEP engineers to resolve clashes, fix site queries (SQs), and ensure timely handover.
3. Planning, Material & Logistics
- Material Planning: Initiate material requisitions for aluminum extrusions, glass, sealants, and hardware, tracking inventory to prevent project delays.
- Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with transport and supply chain teams for the safe packaging and delivery of fabricated goods to the job site without damage.
4. Health & Safety (HSE)
- Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to construction and factory safety standards, including the use of PPE, safe handling of heavy materials, and safe working at heights on-site.
- Safety Meetings: Conduct daily or weekly toolbox talks and risk assessments with technicians and installers.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
- Experience: Typically 3–8 years of direct experience in aluminum fabrication, architectural facade systems (curtain walls, structural glazing), and UAE/regional construction standards.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in interpreting architectural/shop drawings, and familiarity with design software like AutoCAD or Revit.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, logistical coordination, and clear communication to bridge the gap between factory workers and site personnel.
